Federal Government seeking feedback on outstanding Respect@Work recommendations
The federal government is seeking feedback from businesses, organisations, employers, individuals, and other relevant stakeholders on recommendations contained in the Respect@Work: Sexual Harassment National Inquiry Report.
"This consultation process will inform the Government's next steps to consider the legal frameworks that protect Australians from sexual harassment at work," the Attorney-General said.
The Government implemented 6 of the recommendations made in the report through the Sex Discrimination and Fair Work (Respect at Work) Amendment Act 2021, which commenced on 11 September 2021.
"The Respect at Work Act was a significant achievement and immediately strengthened the overarching legal frameworks with respect to sex discrimination and sexual harassment in Australian workplaces," the Attorney-General said.
The Government is now seeking views on the remaining legislative recommendations.
