Fatal occupational falls claimed the lives of 41 Victorians in five years

WorkSafe reminds employers to protect workers from falls after 41 workers were fatally injured and more than 7,000 workers suffered serious injuries in work-related falls in the last five years.

So far this year, three Victoria workers have died from falls and more than 300 workers have been injured, according to the safety watchdog.

WorkSafe Executive Director Health and Safety Narelle Beer said employers have a duty to protect employees from falls when working at height.

"A fall can happen in just seconds but the consequences can last a lifetime, including devastating injuries and loss of life," Dr Beer said.
