Energex and Ergon encourage safe installation of Christmas lights to avoid electrical dangers

As the holiday season draws near, Energex is advising both homeowners and businesses to implement heightened safety measures when installing Christmas lights and other electrically powered decorations.

According to Energex, although holiday lights contribute to the joy and merriment of the season, improper installation and maintenance can lead to serious safety concerns.

Craig Brown, the Work Group Leader, underscored the significance of adhering to safety protocols in order to prevent electrical incidents, fires, and possible injuries.

“We want everyone to enjoy their Christmas displays without compromising safety,” Mr Brown said.

“By taking the right steps, buying good-quality electrical decorations and ensuring proper installation, people can prevent accidents and keep their celebrations stress-free.”
