Death on the job: Thirty two fatal incidents reported to WorkSafe so far this year

Latest statistics from WorkSafe New Zealand show a total of 32 fatal occupational incidents have been reported to the safety watchdog this year.

Transport, Postal and Warehousing and Construction have each recorded six fatal incidents. The figures indicate five fatal incidents have occurred to workers in the Agriculture industry this year. The Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing Support Services industry has reported three fatalities.

The above figures do not include fatal incidents reported to other regulators, according to WorkSafe.
