Death on the job: Safe Work Australia updates 2022 fatality figures

Safe Work Australia has recently released the latest work-related fatality figures for 2022.

The figures show work-related fatalities in the Transport postal and warehousing industry are on the rise, with 12 fatalities recorded so far this year.  Agriculture forestry and fishing has seen 6 fatalities, while Construction, Public administration and safety, Electricity, gas, water and waste services each have 2 fatalities.

In 2020, 194 Australian workers were fatally injured at work. Transport postal and warehousing (49 fatalities), Agriculture forestry and fishing (46 fatalities) and Construction (36 fatalities) accounted for more than 60% of fatalities in 2020.
