Darwin roofing company faces charges after opting to contest fine

A Northern Territory roofing company will face court early next month after choosing to challenge an infringement notice issued by the state’s workplace safety watchdog.

The safety watchdog alleges that a safety inspector saw a worker standing near the edge of a roof without fall protection in April 2022. The company received a $3640 infringement notice following the incident.

NT WorkSafe said the roofing company chose to contest the fine and faces charges for failing to provide fall protection.
