Darwin restaurant fire prompts WorkSafe safety warning

NT WorkSafe recently issued a safety alert following an explosion and a fire at a Darwin restaurant last month.

Five patrons sustained injuries during the incident.

An investigation to determine the cause of the incident is ongoing.

NT WorkSafe said the purpose of the alert is to ‘remind restaurants, food vendors and domestic gas appliance users of the importance of only using certified gas appliances and following all safety instructions included with the gas appliance or associated gas cartridges.’
