Comments sought on proposed Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Regulation 2022

The NSW Government is inviting the public to provide input on the proposed Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Regulation 2022.

Mining Exploration and Geoscience (MEG) has published a regulatory impact statement (RIS) examining the benefits of the proposed Regulation and its costs.

The NSW Government said, "the proposed Regulation will re-make the existing Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Regulation 2014 with some amendments, as part of the staged repeal of statutory rules under the Subordinate Legislation Act 1989."

"The object of the proposed Regulation is to make provision about the health and safety of workers at mine and petroleum sites."

The feedback period on the proposed rule ends on Friday, 8 July 2022.
