Comcare urges all workplaces to participate in National Safe Work Month
Comcare is urging all workplaces to engage in National Safe Work Month by utilising available resources, initiating important discussions, and prioritising safety daily throughout October and afterward.
The federal safety authority says it received notification of 1,671 incidents classified as notifiable under the Work Health and Safety Act during the period of 2024–25.
“This year’s theme, safety: every job, every day, encourages all workplaces – regardless of occupation, industry, location or size – to prioritise safety in every role, every day,” Comcare said.
Comcare highlights that adopting this approach is effective in decreasing the chances of work-related fatalities, critical injuries, and diseases, ensuring that all employees can go home safely at the end of the workday.
Comcare is organising a number of free virtual events during October. The program kicks off on 9 October with a discussion on workplaces that promote mental health, featuring Beyond Blue CEO Georgie Harman AO.
