Comcare assesses measures implemented to combat sexual harassment in the workplace
A study by Comcare on workplace sexual harassment interventions has shown that a comprehensive approach is the most successful in preventing and dealing with sexual harassment in the workplace.
A comprehensive review by Comcare analysed 14 studies focused on the efficacy of interventions designed to mitigate and prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.
“We found that a multi-pronged approach is most effective in preventing and addressing workplace sexual harassment,” Comcare said.
“Single interventions, such as training, can have a positive effect on single outcomes; however, single interventions were less effective when used in isolation – especially if the organisational culture overlooks gender-based harassment.”
Comcare asserts that a variety of interventions are essential for effectively mitigating workplace sexual harassment. These interventions should encompass thorough policies, robust complaint mechanisms, and extensive training and educational programs.
