Christchurch workplace incident leads to man's death

A man lost his life at a workplace in Christchurch Friday morning following what is believed to be an explosion of a tyre.

Police said emergency services were alerted to the incident at around 9:15am.

It has been reported that the man succumbed to injuries sustained from a tyre explosion in Harewood.

The man was allegedly fixing a flat tyre while operating a forklift at the time of the incident.

The police said WorkSafe is aware of the fatal incident.
