Charges laid after worker struck by heavy steel beams

A transport company faces multiple charges under the Victorian OHS Act following an incident in which a truck driver suffered serious injuries after several steel beams fell on him.

WorkSafe said a load of steel beams fell from a flatbed trailer and struck the 64-year-old man in May 2021.

The safety regulator said the company faces three charges for failing to ensure people who were not employees were not exposed to risks, and four charges for failing to ensure a workplace under its control was safe.
