Boy killed, man hurt in quad bike incident at mango farm south of Darwin

A quad bike crash south of Darwin on Sunday afternoon has resulted in the death of an 11-year-old boy.

Northern Territory Police said emergency services were sent to Darwin River following reports that a quad bike had collided with a tree at a mango farm shortly before 1pm.

Police and paramedics arrived and discovered the boy unresponsive, initiating CPR; however, he could not be resuscitated and passed away at the scene.

A 38-year-old man who sustained injuries in the incident was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital.
