A young boy was transported to the hospital by the LifeFlight helicopter following an incident involving a tractor in south-east Queensland.

The incident occurred while he was on the tractor with his father, which lost control, causing the boy to jump off and injure his leg on the slasher.

The rescue chopper was deployed to the Bundaberg area on Saturday evening, arriving at a private property close to the scene of the incident.

The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) joined forces with local QAS paramedics to attend to the boy, who had suffered a severe laceration on his right leg.

He was then flown to Bundaberg Hospital for further medical care.
