Border blitz prioritises mental well-being and falls prevention
A recent safety blitz conducted by WorkSafe and SafeWork along the NSW/Victoria border has revealed potential fall hazards and emphasised the importance of addressing mental health risks in construction sites.
Safety inspectors visited 49 construction sites in Albury and Wodonga during the one week blitz.
“The operation had a strong education component, including presentations at a trade breakfast attended by dozens of local workers and information sessions for more than 300 TAFE students and young apprentices,” WorkSafe Victoria said.
In addition, inspectors held conversations with employers to address their responsibilities in managing psychosocial risks that may present a danger to the health and safety of workers.
