Australians urged to promote safety in their workplaces this National Safe Work Month

During this National Safe Work Month, Safe Work Australia is urging all Australians to prioritise safety in their workplace.

Observed annually in October, National Safe Work Month offers a crucial opportunity for workplaces across the nation to highlight the importance of maintaining health and safety standards.

The theme for this year's National Safe Work Month, "safety is everyone's business," urges workplaces nationwide to prioritise safety.

According to Safe Work Australia, this theme illustrates the collective advantages of maintaining safe work practices for all employees in the workplace, highlighting Work Health and Safety (WHS) as a vital principle and an inherent right.

Safe Work Australia Chief Executive Officer, Marie Boland has called upon workplaces throughout Australia to prioritise safety and engage in National Safe Work Month.

“This year we want workplaces to think about safety as part of the everyday business of their workplace—creating a safe and healthy workplace that is free from physical and psychological harm benefits everyone,” Ms Boland said.
