Annual high visibility initiative launched across NSW mining sites

The NSW Resources Regulator has recently launched its annual high visibility campaign focused on mine safety.

The Resources Regulator says the two-week initiative will concentrate on enhancing safety standards within both underground and surface mining activities, incorporating both scheduled and surprise site inspections.

This year’s initiative expands on the Regulator’s continuous interaction with the industry and reinforces similar efforts undertaken in past years.

The campaign from the previous year focused on compliance and incidents occurring at mining sites, leading to the issuance of 194 compliance notices to 106 different mine sites by the Regulator.

The Regulator plans to visit around 150 mine sites this year.
