Adelaide hotel facing charges following fire incident involving worker
SafeWork SA has brought charges against a hotel in Adelaide along with its managing director after a worker reportedly caught fire while re-fuelling a fireplace.
Legal proceedings have been commenced against the hotel and its managing director, regarded as an Officer under the Work Health and Safety Act, in the South Australian Employment Tribunal on 22 May 2025
The charges are linked to an incident that transpired at the hotel on June 2, 2023.
It is claimed that both defendants neglected their duty regarding health and safety, exposing the worker to the possibility of fatality or significant harm.
