ACT releases new Asbestos Advice Notice

The ACT Government has announced the release of a new Asbestos Advice Notice.

The updated Notice took effect on 1 July 2023.

The notice provides details on where you can find asbestos at home and applies to homes built prior to1990.

WorkSafe ACT said the updated Notice will help improve workplace health and safety and reduce the risk of exposure to asbestos in residential premises.

“The updated Notice must be given to new owners or lessees as part of tenancy agreements and contracts for sale for residential premises. It also needs to be provided during relevant development application processes,” WorkSafe ACT said in a statement.
