167 Australian workers killed on the job so far this year

According to preliminary data from Safe Work Australia, a total of 167 Australian workers have lost their lives at work since the start of this year.
The transport, postal, and warehousing sector has experienced the highest number of fatal incidents, with 62 deaths reported. Next in line is the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sector, which has seen 25 fatalities, while the construction sector follows with 18 deaths.
Additionally, the figures indicate that 23 deaths occurred in industries that are not clearly identified. Safe Work Australia has stated that preliminary data often originates from initial media reports and is generally lower than the confirmed fatality totals.
