A Queensland farmer who survived two days trapped in mud has died in hospital, according to the latest news from emergency services.

The 95-year-old man fell from his tractor while working near a dam south of Gympie, Queensland, on November 6.

Paramedics found the man stuck in mud after two days, with rescue crews working to free him from the site near the dam.

He was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in critical condition. Emergency responders reported the elderly farmer remained in a serious but stable condition following his rescue, giving hope that he might pull through.
