NSW businesses encouraged to host a ‘SafeTea’ event this National Safe Work Month

NSW businesses are being urged to host a SafeTea event during National Safe Work Month.

October is National Safe Work Month – a time for all Australians to focus on workplace health and safety.

The theme for 2022 is Know safety, work safely- encouraging all Australians to make workplace health and safety a priority. Data from SafeWork Australia indicates 163 people were killed at work in 2021.

Head of SafeWork NSW Natasha Mann said, “every workplace has risks. As part of National Safe Work Month, in October all businesses from accounting firms to construction are encouraged to host a SafeTea event at their workplace. So, grab a cuppa, gather your team, and start an important conversation about health and safety at work.

“SafeWork NSW has a range of SafeTea resources to download, including instructional posters to help drive conversations.”
